New Year, New You!

The start of a new year is always a great time to start new things.  One thing that can be added to your list of New Year’s resolutions is a wardrobe update.  Your clothing says a lot about you. So, if your stuff is old and out of date….well, that’s probably not the statement you want to make!

Kick off 2012 right by updating your wardrobe or even changing your look!  If you usually wear a
classic style, consider spicing your look up a bit by going glam.  Maybe you’re more of the sporty type and want to be more trendy but don’t know how.  Or, if you are getting unwanted attention, you could tone things down from a sexy look to something more casual.  No matter what look you want we’ve got the tips and the advice to help navigate your way through the world of fashion and style.

Sporty to Sexy:

If your wardrobe consists of mostly sneakers, jeans, and your favorite team shirt, then  your look is sporty. If you are ready to spice things up a bit, and go from tomboy to boy-catcher or jock to stud, there are a few easy tricks you can use to change your look.

One of the easiest things to do is dress up a pair of your own jeans with a sparkly top, high heels and a fashionable clutch. For the guys, simply trading in the sneakers and team shirt for some black oxfords, a black T-shirt and a sport coat is all you need to make a sexier statement.  You’ve instantly transformed from backyard softball game to club ready!

Glam to Casual:

What would you find if you looked in a glam girl’s closet?  Sparkly tops and dresses, high heeled shoes, and lots of accessories.  So, how can you go from glam to casual? First things first, a casual look usually translates to ‘less is more.’  That means, less sparkle and shine and more muted, neutral tones.  If you have a simple black A-line skirt, pair it with ballet flats and a button down shirt.  You still get a dressy look but with a casual feel.

Casual to Trendy:

For most people, this is probably the hardest wardrobe change to make.  Most of the time we settle for what’s simple and think only celebrity “it” girls and guys know how to dress trendy.  Not so! If you’re not sure what to do, sometimes just looking at pictures of your favorite celebrities can help you figure out what works for you.  You might even find that you already have a lot of those items in your closet and just didn’t know how to put them together!

Let’s say you have a pair of slacks and a cable knit sweater.  Simply accessorize with a scarf, fedora, beaded bracelets and wedge heels and you’re rocking a trendy look!  Guys can also get a fashionable look just by wearing a military style hat, leather wrist strap and loafers. Many other popular looks can be created just by piecing together what you already have with some new things and adding the right accessories.

Addicted to Affliction

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, the A-Team’s newest Mr. T. did it. So did Mechad Brooks of the hit HBO Show “Survivor” and Colby Donaldson from Survivor. Likewise Serinda Swan the star of LockJaw and the upcoming remake of TRON.

Bill “Goldberg” of did it while putting the finishing touches on a build for his DIY Network show “Garage Mahal.”

MMA superstar Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia, Boxer Kelly Pavik and UFC fighters Georges St-Pierre and Nate Diaz do it virtually every day.

Megadeath’s Dave Mustaine and musicians from The Cult, The Buzzcocks, Hedcat, The Damned, NOFX and Face to Face do it on stage.

And former football star Kyle Turley is doing it on the front cover of Time magazine.

They wear Affliction. Affliction clothing.  Affliction T-shirts, beanies, caps and hats.

Because it reflects who they are. Hard-living individualists who believe in putting 1000% into their work and play. Who put the same 1000% into how they look on the inside. and who trust Affliction clothing to handle how they look on the outside.

Affliction styles feature intense graphics, insane colors, and inspired distressing. Affliction t-shirts, Affliction caps, Affliction beanies … always something new and inspiring. Shirts are cut to fit, showing off just the right amount of guns, chest and abs.  They’re made of renewable bamboo and cotton so soft you barely feel you’re wearing them. These days we are loving the subtle power of Affliction Signature Series Mousasi T-shirt,  the raw power of Affliction Brave Red, and the entire Affliction Throwdown series.  Affliction Trucker hats are Affliction’s crazy cool designer’s take on an age-old American style … and they look super hot on men and women! The Affliction Premier Military Hat is just beyond awesome – simple classic shape powered by unique accents – “Yes Sir!”

Just one more – and you have to help on this one – Affliction Hopeless – we are hopelessly at a loss to choose between the Affliction Hopeless Beanie and the Affliction Hopeless Trucker Hat. Unless you can solve it for us, the best way is to do what we did: buy them both.

Underlying it all, quality. Cuz here’s the thing. Your Affliction hats, caps, t-shirts for men, Affliction clothing for men and women – all of it will last FOREVER. Consider Affliction clothing a wearable work of art. An investment in who you are. Creations that make a statement about you. Designs and colors and accents you’d come up with if design was your thing.

92-year-old Nelson Mandela did it for charity. It’s time for you to do it for you.

Get your Affliction today.
