What You Should Actually Wear To A Festival

festival fashion coachella

Like everyone else during the month of April, we’ve got festival fever. The getting-there road trip (see our list of top stops if you’re Coachella-bound), the sunny skies, and that feeling of breaking away gets our pulse pumping.

When it comes to festival fashion, be prepared for boho-overload. We get it, fringe sashays when you walk and that’s sort of fun, but if you really want to stand out from the pack in a smart, forward-thinking kind of way, consider our picks below. (And don’t forget to brush up on our Coachella survival guide!) Continue reading

The Affordable Spring Break Destination & What to Pack

joshua tree things to do

Feeling more Spring Broke than Spring Break? For local California babes looking to chill out or Coachella-bound explorers, we suggest getting lost amid the jaw-dropping scenery in Joshua Tree. Not only does the city boast an impressive National Park (you can’t beat $20 for a 7-day vehicle permit — go ahead, invite all your friends), but the surrounding off-the-map destinations (see below) are just what the doctor ordered for creative-minded adventurers. And it’s all mere miles away from Los Angeles. Continue reading

Coachella 2015 Best Dressed

Weekend Two of Coachella has officially come to a close. While everyone is still buzzing about Nicki Minaj’s surprise appearance during Drake’s set, we’re taking a look back at the glorious festival fashion that took place over the past two weeks. From floral maxis to super short denim cutoffs, we saw our fair share of modern day hippie couture. And let’s just say some executed the tousled hair-fringed everything combo more effortlessly than others.

We’re talking street style looks that are completely unique. It’s these outfits from the music festival scene that we’re taking inspiration from and incorporating into our spring wardrobes. We could use a dose of boho magic in our lives.
Kendall Jenner

On paper, this look shouldn’t work: Jean bermuda shorts, a triangle bikini top under a suede vest, and snakeskin booties. But it’s her relaxed sort of approach that makes us want to spring for a pair of distressed boyfriend shorts for our spring wardrobes. Possessing an edgy statement necklace is next on our to-do list. Coachella Survival Guide: 10 Tips & Tricks

We’ve filled you in on potential Coachella fashion trends, and given you inspiration with what to wear. We made a list of 10 Must-See Acts that are guaranteed to slay on stage. Your transportation is settled and your hotels are booked. Now, you just need to know the secrets to having the best festival experience ever.

1. Hydrate!!

Really, guys, it goes without saying but we need to say it anyway. Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s during Week One, and with all that dancing and grooving you’re going to be doing, your body needs proper hydration. There are refill stations around the fields for CamelBaks, so you might suggest someone in your squad bring one.

2. Wear comfortable shoes

10 Artists You Can’t Miss At Coachella

The dry desert air, the sun beaming against the metal stage rigging, you look up into the open blue skies to nowhere land. But softly in the distance, you hear a band tuning up their guitars and the steady roar of the crowd anticipating those first notes. It may only be January, but dreams of Coachella are already floating in our heads. With the 2015 lineup announced, everyone’s buzzing with excitement. If you were lucky enough to score a pass during the hectic on sale yesterday, you should start preparing now.

In particular, you need to start listening to confirmed acts and prioritize which you want to see most. Every year, there’s bound to be a schedule conflict between two artists where you’re left thinking, “Which band do I see?!” If it comes down to that, here are ten acts* who you should just say yes to.

*We figured you already know how awesome the headliners are, so this list focuses on those artists in smaller print on the lineup.

1. Lights

Canadian singer Lights creates songs with booming beats and celestial synths. Drawing inspiration from video games and the sci-fi culture, Lights has released three studio albums so far and each is a dream pop masterpiece. On the stage, she’s a force to be reckoned with, alternating between keyboard jam sessions, guitar riffs, and ear-piercing vocals you’ll gladly drown in.

C’mon! This is SoCal. The party had the boards, the glorious sunshine, and it just wouldn’t be the same without some bikes!

Fashion models Jourdan Dunn and Chloe Norgaard were also in attendance. We’re loving Jourdan’s boots with her two-piece outfit and Chloe’s signature style was a natural match for the sparkle boots!

The UGG Style Haven party was definitely booming with style! SoCal may be known for its flip-flop-wearing-looks, but these guys definitely bust that stereotype!
