New York Fashion Week is winding down today, and this past week has been chock-full of fashion that’s inspired, outrageous, and downright stunning. We’re not even talking about the runway shows — it’s the street style that grabbed our attention. The freezing New York weather and fast-paced attitude brought out a few common trends among show-goers.
1. Fuzzy coats
If we had a quarter for how many fuzzy coats that passed by the Lincoln Center over the course of this past week, well, we’d be pretty rich. They came in all shapes, colors and patterns, and we were envying after every last one of them.
2. 70’s silhouettes
Yes, the 70’s are back. And if the re-worked trends look anything like this adorable shift dress or this suede coat, we never want it to go away.
3. Patch jeans

Branching off the 70’s trend, these denim DIY projects, when done right, are blissfully adorable. We might have to start diving through vintage bins for old patches today.
4. Fringe bags
The runways saw an influx of fringe dresses (BCBG, Edun, Ulla Johnson), but when it came to street style, fringe bags were the most sought-after accessory.
5. Dressed-up sneakers
Like the normcore trend we were so head-over-heels for last year, the idea of slipping into comfy, sporty sneakers with an ironed pair of slacks is everything we’ve imagined.
6. Customized leather jackets
Gigi’s jacket is finished with an arsenal of studs and spikes, while Chiara’s features the most adorable self-promo we’ve ever seen (#TheBlondeSaladNeverStops). Both have won our hearts.
7. Slouchy pants

These slacks are tailored to perfection. All that extra leg room? Intentional added volume with every step you take.
8. Grey tweed
Michael Kors’ runway show featured a ton of tweed and wool numbers, but they were no match for these business-casual looks that were executed to perfection.
9. Sheer panels
Negative degrees couldn’t stop these ladies from rocking fabulously sheer skirts around town, all in the name of fashion.
