Now that we’ve begun settling in to the new year, most of us start to feel a new sense of hope. Maybe this year we’ll finally stray away from our simple habits and take a few more risks when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. But where do you begin? Try starting with little tasks and go from there. The following fashion resolutions are bound to put you on your path to sartorial success.
1. Dress weather appropriately
Sometimes this rule is as simple as, if you know it’s going to rain, make sure you step out in the appropriate footwear. Every girl should own a trusty pair of rain boots. We recommend the stylish (and very waterproof) Hunter brand. Since these boots come in a variety of colors, it’s easy to style them with any and every outfit you own. No more excuses!
2. Cuddle up in style & comfort
This is especially relevant to so many of us who try to set a goal to read more books in the new year. If we have a comfy-cozy pair of boots to keep us warm while we lounge around the house, we can knock both of those resolutions out at once (and feel good at the same time).
3. Wear less black
We know, it’s easier said than done. But we’re not recommending you toss your favorite skinny black jeans to the back of your closet. Instead, style them with a colorful sweater or bomber jacket for a look that’s more appealing to the eye. Once you’ve ventured out and tried it, you’ll likely find yourself turning to this same formula over and over again.
4. Spring into Birkenstock
No season creeps up on us quite like spring. This year, we plan on preparing ourselves for warmer days by investing in the ultra-comfortable Birkenstock sandals. Though this brand is no stranger to our spring mood boards, off-duty models have begun to catch on. That’s a good indication that Birkenstock is going to have an explosive year. And, hey, since they look great with socks, too, we might just start sporting them earlier than ever.
5. Sort your closet
Though we probably set a goal each year to clean the space around us, simply sorting your clothing might give you a better head-start. Without overwhelming yourself, consider finding a method that works for you. Whether that’s color coordination or shelving your graphic tees separately from your basic tees, it’s a jump in the right direction.
