Green Go!

St Pattys DayHolidays are always a perfect excuse for dressing up or buying new clothes to wear, and St. Patrick’s Day is no different. It’s the day you’re supposed to wear green, because as legend has it, it makes you invisible to leprechauns who will otherwise sneak up on you to pinch you for not wearing green.

And since this pinching thing has been going on for hundreds of years, you can expect to get pinched by family and friends for scoffing at tradition. But, when it comes to wearing green, not everyone can pull it off – or can they? Just like skin tones are different, there are also many shades of green.

You can find out the shade of green that looks best on you by taking a skin tone quiz like this one. Once you find out the right shade of green that looks best, you can start shopping for the perfect St. Patty’s day outfit. Going out to celebrate at a club? Dance the night away in a mini-skirt, dark green tights, and ankle boots. Spending the day with friends? Throw on a cute graphic tee in green, a pair of Bermuda shorts, and Lacoste sneakers.

Peek-a-boo Pieces

Sheer Fabric ShirtNow that spring is here, it’s time to start wearing your favorite peek-a-boo pieces, daring cutouts, and sheer fabric! Whatever your body shape or level of modesty, there’s a barely-there option for you. You can go shopping for new pieces, or have fun shopping your closet discovering old favorites.

Whether you’re going for a daring look or one with less of a peep-show, you can find tops and dresses made with sheer fabric that show off certain areas. Go for a daring look by wearing a sheer fabric shirt and a lace camisole underneath. Too daring for you? Keep it modest by wearing a solid color shirt with sheer sleeves.

You can also find shirts and dresses made with a block pattern that features a solid area and a sheer area, so you can show off a toned tummy or legs.  Take a walk on the wild side and wear an asymmetrical shirt with a bare-midriff style and a longer sheer fabric in the back.

If you’re not fond of sheer fabrics, you can wear a dress with a split “up-to-there” or clothing with strategically placed cut-outs that show skin. There are so many options when it comes to daring, barely-there looks and now is definitely the time to wear them!

At the office:

Bermuda shorts at the office? Sure, why not? You can find these shorts in the same section you find your slacks, made with the same material and colors, and most office dress codes allow them now. Add a pair of heels and a ruffled blouse for a complete boss-approved look.

Fashionable Sporty Wear

New Year’s resolutions have come and gone, with the main one usually about losing weight and getting in shape. How are you doing with that? If you’re like most of us, it fell off your to-do list after the first week or so. It’s never too late to get back into the swing of things, and with summer only a few months away, you can still work on a bikini-ready body.

This year’s summer Olympics will certainly give you reason enough to take stock of your own fitness level and maybe even get a few ideas of what you should wear when you work out. If it’s good enough for an Olympic athlete, surely it should be for you too, right? We know you might not be able to afford the same things, but you can still look cute and workout at the same time on a smaller budget and solve a few pesky fashion issues along the way.

Racerback teeWorkout Tops:

Problem: Your workout tops are either too snug or too loose causing you to feel self-conscious and uncomfortable. Or, maybe it rides up and exposes your stomach, or pulls down too much in front. Whatever your fashion concern, we’ve found an answer.

Solution: The Zobha Audrey tank offers style and comfort, the Gap Fit Racerback Tank fits snug enough to provide support, and the Mizuno Rider 2 Running Tee helps you stay cool.

Under Armour Shatter CapriWorkout Pants:

Problem: Ever tried to work out in pants that were too long, too short, rode up in all the wrong places, or got too hot when you started to sweat? There are several options to keep you cool, dry, comfy, and of course, in style.

Solution: Mizuno Exodus ¾ Tights fit snug and keep you warm enough during the cooler months, Aerie Fold-Over Yoga Pants are soft and stretchy so you can move around easily, and Under Armour Shatter Capris that provide style in a figure-flattering way.

Running BraWorkout Accessories/Gear:

Problem: Whether your hair is short or long, it can get in the way of a good workout. Another problem you might face is not enough support on top, or you’re dealing with underwear that won’t stay put.

Solution: Lululemon Slipless Headband for your hair woes, Nike’s Swift U-Back Women’s Running Bra for added support, and Lululemon Smooth Moves Girlshorts that are so comfortable you’ll forget you’re wearing any underwear at all.

Asics Gel ShoesWorkout Shoes:

Problem: Your heels slip out of your shoes when you walk or run, or your sneakers are too heavy for outdoor running.

Solution: Asics GEL-Landreth 6 offer a built in heel-grip insert to hold your shoe in place without blisters, and the New Balance 890 is lightweight enough to make it feel like you’re not wearing them with the right amount of support too.
